WHO ARE WE?

The Red Latinoamericana de Seguridad Comunitaria (Latin American Community Security Network), is a regional network formed by organizations, communities and collectives in Latin America that work in an articulated manner in the development of actions to strengthen community and collective security for the defense of rights.

HISTORY

The Network was born in 2021, from the development of the Latin American Meetings on Community Security, which have been promoted by the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Project (ProDESC) since 2017 with the objective of knowing and sharing experiences of community and collective security in the Global South, especially in the framework of processes of defense of land and territory in contexts of risk by States, companies and transnational capital.

To date, more than 30 organizations, communities and collectives from countries such as Argentina, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico have participated in the Latin American Meetings, where they have developed exercises of context analysis, exchange of experiences and strengthening of strategic alliances in the key of regional solidarity.
