The School
In the context of human rights violations that prevails in Latin America, ProDESC identified the need for a professional formation space for new generations of human rights defenders, so in 2017, with the support of the Bertha Foundation, ProDESC created the Escuela de Justicia Transnacional (School of Transnational Justice).
The school is a space where you can find innovative tools and experiences that will allow you to observe the reality we face in terms of economic, social and cultural human rights (ESCR).
The school was born with a face-to-face format that has been adapted to a virtual modality derived from the needs that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic.

OUR OBJETIVE
To encourage the training of new generations in the defense of economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR), in the framework of transnational justice and the construction of collective and community subjects with political agency, through the methodology of integral defense sustained and proven through ProDESC’s trajectory.

We have trained five generations of ESCR defenders, with the participation of 110 students from the 32 states of the Mexican Republic.
The students selected are linked to processes of defense of land and territory, human labor rights, women’s rights and the rights of indigenous peoples.

In 2022 ProDESC detected the need to extend the invitation to human rights defenders in Latin America, and launched the first call for applications at the international level.
